Rustavi 2 Case - GYLA and Public Defender will get involved in European Court with a statut of friends of the court

The Strasbourg Court satisfied the request of two organizations from Georgia for involvement in court case on Rustavi 2.

Under the decision of Strasbourg, Georgian Young Lawyers" Association and Public Defender will be involved in the court case as a friends of the court.

According to the Ministry of Justice, the court satisfied their request provided that the ombudsman"s and GYLA"s opinions should not apply to the factual circumstances of the case and the merits of the dispute.

Several organizations have submitted a request to be a third party in the European Court, but Strasbourg satisfied only two of them and rejected 6 organizations.
