"Girgvliani Amendments" - the Human Rights Committee received the legislative initiative with first reading

The Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee has discussed the Girgvliani amendments with the first hearing. The amendments apply to the Criminal Code and serve to eradicate systemic crimes by high-ranking officials. Sandro Girgvliani"s friends have attended the discussion.

According to the member of the faction "Georgian Dream" Anri Okhanashvili, the amendment, which is envisaged in the law, is the execution of the Strasbourg Court ruling of 2011.

The package of legislative amendments, known as "Girgvliani Amendments", imposes a stricter punishment for state officials,in case of their interference in the justice.
