"It"s important for all partners to join our fight woth Russian threat," - Civil sector attends the NATO seminar


Representatives of Georgian and foreign NGOs attend the NATO Parliamentary Assembly seminar in Batumi together with politicians.

The head of Transparency International Georgia speaks about Georgia"s rapprochement with NATO and states that it will be a significant leverage in the Russian propaganda war.

"I think it is important to unite our efforts with all partners in order to fight with Russian propaganda. It is very important for getting closer to NATO and becomming a NATO member," Eka Gigauri, Executive Director of Transparency International Georgia said.

According to the Director of the NGO "Fair Elections", current developments show that Russia tries to intervene not only in Western elections but also in electoral processes planned in Georgia. Benidze thinks that the main message is to get closer to Europe and NATO to counter this attempt.

"It is important to meet these threats correctly and to have the right position," - said Mikheil Benidze, Executive director of "International Society for Fair Elections and Democracy," said.

NATO Parliamentary Assembly Seminar is held in Batumi. Participants will discuss Georgia"s Euro-Atlantic integration and reform agenda, NATO-Georgia achievements and prospects, as well as security in the Black Sea region for three days.
