"We appeal to the government with request to dismiss Tea Tsulukiani" - NGOs against the Minister of Justice

The civil sector is united against the Minister of Justice. Non-governmental organizations demand the resignation of Tea Tsulukiani and say that the new Chief Prosecutor should not be selected by the old justice minister.

The third sector names the Minister of Justice as one of the authors of the systemic problem.

Representatives of NGOs address the government and ask Tea Tsulukiani to resign.

"We call on the Georgian government to dismiss the Minister of Justice, Tea Tsulukiani, because she has not been able to accomplish this important mission over the years, which is called reform in the justice sector. We think that in terms of these conditions, it is not right if we engage in consultations with her in the process of selecting the Chief Prosecutor, "said Eka Gigauri, executive director of Transparency International Georgia.

Representatives of NGOs say that Tea Tsulukiani is not adequate in regard to the current events in the country.

Executive director of the Open Society Georgia Foundation, Ketevan Khutsishvili, says that reforms initiated in the justice system, as well as drug policy reform, have been hampered by Tea Tsulukiani or failed.

Non-governmental organizations say that there are question marks and shortcomings in the selection process of the chief prosecutor.
