The President of Georgia responds to the tragedy in Tkibuli. Giorgi Margvelashvili expresses condolences to the family of the killed miners.
" Fact that 11 people are dead and 10 injured in the shaft, indicates that the state has not an adequate response to similar cases.

We welcome the fact that the mine will not resume the work until the criminal investigation, as well as highly qualified international engineering and technical expertise, are not concluded. Miners will have their salaries in this period.

The main question is - will it be possible to continue working safely in Mindeli"s shaft? Everybody should take responsibility and take effective steps to ensure that the right to life is protected, "the statement reads.
