The High Council of Justice will hold today the first session after the Chairperson of the Supreme Court and the of the High Council of Justice, Nino Gvenetadze resigned,.

This time the meeting will be headed by the Secretary of the Council, Giorgi Mikautadze.

The agenda is the only issue. Members of the Council should discuss the admission of the candidates for the second stage of the competition for the selection of the judges.

The non-judge member, Ana Dolidze, also intends to focus on the recommendations sent by the Georgian Young Lawyers" Association to the Council for assessment and selection process.

"We had so many shortcomingsin the judges appointment process. Incomplete information provided to us, in terms of the past of the candidates, the score system is not clear, GYLA has suggested specific recommendations on how to improve the assessment system of these candidates. I, as a member of the council, think that I would like to request a discussion about how we can improve the way and how well we evaluate the candidates, "said Anna Dolidze.
