Tamar Khulordava accuses Nona Mikhelidze of bias in the European Parliament

Tamar Khulordava blames independent expert of the European Parliament Nona Mikhailidze in political bias and subjectivity. Whether the European Parliament will consider Nona Mikhailidze"s recommendations, it will be clear at the end of the week. Before September 7, European lawmakers may make amendments to the report of the Association Agreement between Georgia and the European Union. Voting will be held in Brussels in early October.

"A situation has been created which does not have any connection with reality. The whole emphasis was made on one of the surveys that was not part of the report and it was as if the European Parliament was very critical towards Georgia. This is one of many researches, which is one of the sources of information for the European Parliament and only one. It is of low quality and politically biased, "Tamar Khulordava said.

The European Parliament has discussed the implementation of the Association Agreement between Georgia and the European Union. The report of the rapporteur Andrei Mamikins on the issue of Georgia on the Foreign Affairs Committee was discussed, which was relatively less acute. However, an alternate report was quite opposite of the official report that the EU has ordered to an independent expert.

According to the 224-page report of the invited expert Nona Mikheidze, weak institutions, informal governance and general political environment are still a problem in Georgia.

Independent expert"s conclusion included informal governance and decision-making in the backstage. Today, the European Parliament has the most questions with independent researchers.
