"Georgian Dream" will support independent candidate Salome Zourabichvili in the presidential election. Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze made the statement after the end of the political council session.

The sitting of the political council of the Georgian Dream lasted for one hour, where members of the ruling party agreed to announce full support for Salome Zurabishvili in the presidential election.

"Our party keeps the promise and we will not present our candidate in the presidential election," Kobakhidze said.

The ruling party will support the selected candidate financially.
