"Russia is still occupying our territories" - Prime Minister delivered a speech for the heads of governments of GUAM member states

The Prime Minister of Georgia participated in the meeting of the heads of governments of GUAM member states.

Participants of the meeting talked about political and economic cooperation, GUAM partner partners and relations with international organizations.

"The Russian Federation still occupies 20% of our territories. Our mission is to provide peace and well-being for our citizens living in Georgia, - Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze said at a joint news conference of the heads of governments of GUAM member states.
"We have initiated a very important peace initiative "A Step for a Better Future". Unfortunately, the Russian Federation still creates obstacles for our peacekeeping efforts aimed at creating opportunities for our citizens living in the occupied territories. We are trying to stop the humanitarian disaster that we see today in the occupied territories. The number of population of the occupied territories has decreased 5 times after the occupation. This, of course, is unacceptable. This is unacceptable for Georgia, for our friends, for the whole world.

Of course, we must consolidate our efforts, we must combine our resources and should have a result-oriented international and domestic policy. We believe that GUAM is a very important platform, where we can discuss many initiatives – the ways by which our nations will be able to overcome this most painful challenge faced by our countries,"- said the Prime Minister.
