Tbilisi City Court sentenced former mayor of Zugdidi and his deputy to preliminary detention as a preventive measure.

Lasha Gogia and Gia Gulordava were officially charged yesterday. The investigation charges them with taking bribe in large amounts .

The prosecutor"s office requested the imprisonment of former high ranking officials as preventive measure. The lawyers of the detainees claim that the prosecution has no evidence to prove their guilt.

According to the attorneys, none of the detainees plead guilty.
