The statement was made by Zurabishvili herself. She does not hide that Telavi was not accidentally chosen to be the venue of the inauguration. According to the newly elected president, she should prove that she will the president of those who did not vote for her.
"“There were several scenarios but Telavi was my proposal. Because, during the whole campaign was focused on this topic: that we must develop the regions and Georgia’s development is impossible without development of its regions and I think that Telavi is a right decision. The second reason behind my decision to choose Telavi is that Telavi did not vote for me. It is one of the places where I lost the elections and I want to show that I am the President of all, including those people who did not vote for me,” Salome Zurabishvili said.
