What should be criteria for electing lifelong judges - members of the Council of Justice are working on the initiative

What should be criteria for electing lifelong judges - the non-judge members of the High Council of Justice are working on their own initiative in this direction, which will be submitted to the Parliament in the nearest future.
According to Nazi Janezashvili, the selection of a judge is to be a transparent process. According to her, a standard should be elaborated that will be able to prevent conflict of interest.
In case of adoption of the initiative, the amendment should be introduced into organic law.
"The proposals we submit will include some basic principles. This is the announcement of the competition, creation of the filter mechanism, which implies that the High Council of Justice should not be the only body which will decide on the nomination and broader public and professional circles should participate in the process. The issue of conflict of interest should be taken into consideration, "said Nazi Janezashvili.
