Members of the parliamentary majority speak about the autocephaly of Ukraine and the steps taken by the authorities and the Georgian Patriarchate.
According to the members of "Georgian Dream", first of all the Patriarchate should express a position regarding the autocephaly of Ukrainian Church.
Archil Talakvadze, the leader of majority says that all decisions regarding Ukraine will be based on the interests of the country.
"I am sure that the Church will have discussion regarding this issue with the Ukrainian Church, while the government will have a discussion with Ukrainian government... This is a very important issue for Ukraine. Consequently, we hope that every decision that will be taken in relation to Ukraine will help our partner country to strengthen its positions, consolidate its democracy and protect public interests, "Talakvadze said.
David Matikashvili shares the teammate"s position. According to the MP, Ukraine is a partner of Georgia and therefore an appropriate decision should be taken regarding the autocephaly of Ukraine.
