Protest rally in Machakhela valley - locals protest against construction of hydro power plants.
The locals gathered in the place where the equipment for preliminary study was parked. The protesters say that construction processes, explosions will significantly damage the population. The HPPs will ecologically damage the mountainous region and change the bed of the river, will change the natural landscape.
According to them, the development of Machakhela National National Park is also threatened.The locals appeal to the government and call for change of the decision on the construction of HPPs.The population continues to collect signatures requesting the suspension of the process.
