Shota Khabareli deems unacceptable the request made at the closed session of the Olympic Committee, by Shalva Gogoladze, the deputy sports minister on disqualification of European champion Zura Datunashvili. First deputy chairperson of the Sports Committee states that the decision on specific violations should be made only by the presidency of the Wrestling Federation, which will discuss the issue of confrontation between the President of the Federation and the European Champion on February 23.
According to Shota Khabareli, interference in such decisions is neither the Ministry`s nor the Olympic Committee"s prerogative.
"This is a direct involvement of the Ministry and the Olympic Committee, hence he said that Gogoladze should have a decision of the Disciplinary Committee, not the Ministry or the Olympic Committee," said Shota Khabareli.
