Bidzina Ivanishvili"s interests in TBC Bank - Bidzina Ivanishvili used to own more than three million shares

Documents confirm that Bidzina Ivanishvili had interest in the TBC Bank. As it turns out, in 2015-2017 the chairman of the "Georgian Dream" had more than three million shares of the country"s largest bank.

According to Market Screener, Ivanishvili"s Co-Investment Fund sold two million shares on March 29, 2017 for almost 25 million pound sterling, but left 1 million shares.

The parliamentary majority, states that having 4.1 percent of the bank shares does not mean that Ivanishvili has interest in the bank.

Bidzina Ivanishvili"s co-investment fund confirmed that their subsidiary company "Malone" had shares in TBC Bank. However, the fund says that one million 136,000 shares of the last transaction have been sold and now Ivanishvili has no connection with TBC Bank.

The opposition is confident that Bidzina Ivanishvili wants to get one of the biggest banks and projects related to this group.

Opponents of the government urge Mamuka Khazaradze to act publicly.

The US Chamber of Commerce disseminated a sharp statement today and accused the Central Bank of the country of adopting decisions bypassing the law.

The National Bank of Georgia keeps silence regarding this issue, but they will have to answer the questions on Tuesday. Koba Gvenetadze is summoned to the parliament.
