Davit Kirkitadze Remains in Custody - Despite 15,000 signatures, the judge refused to release one of the leaders of the opposition


David Kirkitadze remains in custody. In spite of 15,000 signatures collected to demand his dismissal, Judge Nunu Nemsitsveridze refused to release one of the leaders of the opposition.
The judge explained that the petition was not presented properly. According to Nunu Nemsitsveridze, 15 thousand signatories should have to come to her and personally tell the judge that they took a surety for Kirkitadze.
27 members of the Parliament have appealed to the judge with a request to release Davit Kirkitadze today, but the judge did not take into account their motion.
The lawyer of the United Opposition`s leader is going to bring thousands of people who took surety for Kirkitadze at the session hall for the next trial.
Judge Nunu Nemsitsveridze, who started the consideration on merits of Davit Kirkitadze"s case today, appeared first in December last year. She was the one who issued the sanction of Davit Kirkitadze"s arrest. After this decision she was appointed as a lifetime judge.The consideration on merits of Davit Kirkitadze"s case will be held on March 12, where the lawyer will once again raise his motion with the participation of signatories.
