The Foreign Relations Committee meeting where MPs gathered to listen to the explanations from Zurab Abashidze was held in closed format.
The session was closed after the MPs confronted each other. Abashidze, who was holding consultations with Bidzina Ivanishvili before meeting with Karasin, says he is ready to meet the chairman of the party agaian and talk with him as a close associate.
"I will be happy to meet with him since I have very good human relationships and I will definitely meet with him." This time such a meeting is not planned, however there was no question on which we have not talked before the meeting,"- says Special Representative of the Prime Minister for Relations with Russia, Zurab Abashidze.
Sopho Katsarava, the chairwoman of the Foreign Relations Committee, explained that the session was closed due to the classified information. According to her, Zurab Abashidze"s answers were exhaustive and the questions were not left unanswered.
The parliamentary opposition claims that the closure of the session was illegal. Bokeria says that the goal of closing the committee meeting was to have a comfortable environment for Zurab Abashidze.
As for "National Movement" Salome Samadashvili thinks that these meetings should be stopped, which will be a clear signal for western partners, but as she said it was clear that the issue of termination of the meetings will not be discussed.
