The United States is closely monitoring the process of TBC Bank"s case. The statement was made by US Ambassador to Georgia Elizabeth Rood. However, she refrained from evaluating the letter sent to Mamuka Khazaradze. She only said that the case related to "TBC" affects the business environment and investments in Georgia.
"The United States has long supported the development of free and independent media in Georgia. I can not comment on the letter. I understand that it is the subject of investigation by the Georgian authorities. As for TBC Bank, we continue to look carefully at the case and think that the ways and consequences of its consideration have a significant impact on the business environment and investment in Georgia, "Elizabeth Rood said.
The events surrounding TBC bank are closely observed by the Council of Europe"s Office in Georgia. Christian Urse says that although the Council of Europe does not consider such cases, they are following the case.
"Everybody knows about the information released by the media, including us, but the Council of Europe does not consider such cases. Of course, we closely following the case. As far as I know the investigation has begun and we will wait for its results, "said Christian Urse.
