Domestic violence - According to the audit report, 90% of abusers are men


Compared to 2013, the number of reported in 2017 domestic violence cases has increased 2 times - the report of the State Audit Office says.The controlling body publishes report on domestic violence and prevention mechanisms.
It turns out that in 2017, the incidence of domestic violence was recorded with 22 478 applications, and the MIA registered 2192 domestic offenses.
According to the report of the Audit Office, an important segment of victims of domestic violence are women -88%, and 90% of the abusers are men.The controlling body has found that the number of homicides committed in domestic violence has increased 3 times in comparison with 2013, with a reduction of murders by 18% in 2017.
According to the Audit Report, 25% of the murders committed in 2017 (every fourth) has been committed as a result of domestic offense, while 50% of all deaths caused by offence (each second) was killed as a result of domestic violence.
According to the data of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the audit report, 62% of the warrants are related to the partner (husband, unregistered marriage, ex-husband).
