Georgia is a valuable NATO partner and the country will become alliance member if it continues its reforms - Jens Stoltenberg

Georgia is a valuable partner of NATO and the country will become the member of the alliance if it continues its reforms, Jens Stoltenberg said after the meeting with the President of Georgia.

The NATO Secretary General once again spoke about Georgia"s NATO integration prospects. He focused on NATO-Georgian relations and paid attention to joint exercises that are taking place in Georgia.

"Reforms are being conducted and I call you to continue this process of reforms. The NATO members have reiterated that Georgia will become an alliance member. I personally attended the Bucharest summit in 2008, where this statement was made for the first time. We will continue to support Georgia on its way to the NATO membership. We call on Russia to withdraw troops from South Ossetia and Abkhazia and cancel recognition of their independence because both are part of Georgia, "Jens Stoltenberg said.

A meeting of the NATO Secretary General with the President of Georgia has already ended.
