Attempts to kidnap a tanker at the Libyan coast - migrants forced the vessel to change the course

Migrants hijacked the tanker near the Libyan coast, and asked the captain to change the course and head to Europe. The incident took place after the rescue operation. The tanker crew found migrants in the sea and pulled out of the water, but migrants seized control of the ship six miles from the Libyan coast.

In a few minutes, the Captain informed the Malta coast guard that the could no longer control the situation the board. Patrol vessels arrived at the scene.

The tanker went to the port of Valia, where he was handed over to the police to investigate the case.
