Committee of Deputy Ministers of the Council of Europe adopts a document on the situation in the occupied regions

At the meeting of Deputy Ministers` Committee of the Council of Europe, the document on the situation in the occupied regions of Georgia was adopted.
The document states that presence of Russian military personnel threatens regional peace and security in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, violating international obligations, indertaken by 12 August 2008 ceasefire agreement.The Council of Europe expresses concern over the deaths of Davit Basharuli, Giga Otkhozoria and Archil Tutunashvili .
In addition, the concern is expressed in the case regarding illegal detention and uncertain circumstances of the death of the Georgian citizen Irakli Kvaratskhelia.
