The question which party would you vote for if tomorrow were parliamentary elections, 25% of respondents named the ruling party, the Georgian Dream, the second place is taken by the United Opposition with 18%. The survey also asked which political party the population was the most positive about?The first place in this list is taken by "European Georgia" - 46%. The following is the "United Opposition" - 40%.In the third place is the ruling party - 38%. It is followed by Labor Party with 32%, Patriots Alliance - 25%, Free Georgia - 16% and finally Republicans - 12%.Most of the respondents name the "United Opposition" as a party caring for priority issues.According to Ipsos Public Opinion Survey, from the three parties mentioned in the question, 21% of the population thinks that the United Opposition can solve the problems. 17% of respondents believe that the "European Georgia" is the party that can take care of the problems of the public .6% believe that the Georgian Dream can solve these issues.
Besides ratings of political parties, Ipsos counted ratings of political figures. The greatest part of the respondents positively characterize Tbilisi Mayor Kakhi Kaladze - 28%. The third president of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili - 26%, followed by the Minister of Internal Affairs Giorgi Gakharia - 25%.Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze is positively characterized by 22%. Georgia"s current president, Salome Zourabichvili, gets 18%, and 14% - Irakli Kobakhidze, Parliament Speaker.
And the question of how people evaluate the role of Bidzina Ivanishvili in Georgian life, the vast majority of respondents is very negative.According to the results of the survey, only 8% assess Bidzina Ivanishvili"s role in the political life of Georgia as very positive and 33% as very negative .The results of the survey were distributed as follows: Very positive - 8%, just positive - 25%, negative 20% - very negative 33%.If we summarize positive and negative responses, we will accept that the role of Bidzina Ivanishvili in the political processes of Georgia is positively evaluated by 32%, but by far more, 52% - negatively.
The role of Mikheil Saakashvili in the political life of the country is assessed as very positive by 14%, 29% - just positive. 23% - negative, and 20% - very negative.By summarizing the positive and negative answers we can see that Saakashvili has equal assessment - 43 percent, and this resulted in the first time that Mikheil Saakashvili"s positive perception surpassed Bidzina Ivanishvili"s positive assessment with 11%.
As for the development of the country, 69% of the surveyed population think Georgia is going in the wrong direction. 69% of respondents share this position. Only 20% think that the country has the right direction.For the survey by "Ipsos", 1540 people were interviewed from 1 to 15 May throughout Georgia.
