According to the Mayor of Tbilisi, the zonal parking rule will be launched in the city from August 1. According to Kakha Kaladze, the hourly parking fee should have been launched from July 1, but this process will be postponed for a month. The reason, as the Mayor states, is the renewal of the buses park.
"The city council approved the rule of zonal time parking, initiated by Tbilisi City Hall. The main purpose of this initiative is to reduce environmental pollution and traffic congestion in the city and increase the role of public transport. Concrete steps have been taken. We have purchased 90 units of buses and 40 will arrive in a month and will serve the residents of the capital.
