Donald Trump pays an official visit to the UK

The US President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania, pay an official visit to the UK. They were greeted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace at the start of a three-day state visit which sees him feted with the full force of royal ceremony: a state dinner with the queen, tea with heir Prince Charles, and a tour of Westminster Abbey.

Trump will have lunch with the queen before the monarch"s second son Prince Andrew accompanies him to Westminster Abbey, where the president will lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

The second day of the trip will focus on politics, including breakfast with business leaders, talks with May in 10 Downing Street, a news conference.
Megan Markle, Prince Harry"s wife will not attend the state dinner.

Before leaving for the UK, Trump has mentioned that Markle is "nasty."

The opposition Labor Party has boycotted the visit of the US president. To protest his visit, protest rallies are planned in London, Manchester and Belfast.
