Evacuation has been announced in Athens suburbs due to heavy forest fires.At night the fire approached to the eastern outskirts of the Greek capital. According to preliminary reports, several houses have been damaged.
Police began evacuation of the population. No injuries have been reported so far. More than 150 firefighters had been trying to extinguish the fire for several hours. 46 fire crews were mobilized at the scene. Aviation was also involved in the operation.
