The North Atlantic Council"s visit to Georgia continues. Members of the Council together with the Ministers of Internal Affairs and Defense inspected the Batumi coast guard ships today. NATO Deputy Secretary General Rose Gottemoeller also met with the Coast Guard.
“We are proud of the development of Georgia"s coast guard capabilities, which will help ensure security in the region. Thank you so much for being here, I am delighted to see such enthusiasm. I have to say that it is a great honor for me to be here and it is also a pleasure. Today we have seen the progress of the coast guard. We visited the ships, met and talked to officers and servicemen. We are very proud of the development of Georgia"s coast guard capabilities which will help ensure security in the region. I am very happy with my presence in Batumi and with this beautiful weather, which is particularly pleasant after the rainy days in Brussels. I also want to thank the Minister of Internal Affairs for hosting us,” said Gottemoeller.
