Holy Synod to meet on October 31 - priests will discuss the issue of Bishop Iakob

The meeting of the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of Georgia will be held on October 31, it was announced at the Patriarchate on Tuesday evening.
Reportedly, the decision was made by Patriarch Ilia II. The Holy Synod will decide whether or not the issue of Bishop Iakob should be discussed. The session will be attended by the retired Bishop of Bodle himself. The clergy of the higher hierarchy must decide whether the church will begin to study matters related to him. It is already known that Bishop Iacob remains a member of the Synod.

The secretary of the Catholicos-Patriarch Michael Botkoveli categorically denies the information that Ilia II is going to resign.
"For several times we have heard reports that the Patriarch has left the city and he was going to announce his resignation. This is lie, this is not true. The main thing that His Holiness instructed me to do was to announce that the Synod on will meet on October 31, Thursday", - said Michael Botkoveli.
