The Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia, Archil Talakvadze met with the EU Ambassador to Georgia Carl Hartzell.

The Speaker and the Ambassador discussed the decision on proportional elections and the current situation.

According to Archil Talakvadze, the opportunities and working process around the OSCE recommendations were also highlighted. As the Speaker of Parliament stated, despite the fact that introduction of a proportional system in 2020 failed to receive enough votes, the 2020 elections will be democratic and fair. He expressed readiness of successfully completing the current electoral reform in a constructive political dialogue within the framework of the OSCE recommendations.
