Police arrested a monk from Mount Athos. The investigation charged him with possession of a large amount of drugs. Father Svimon Kavtaradze will be charged today.

The 30-year-old cleric surrendered to the police himself.

This happened two days ago after he and his entourage were searched and seized, but the other person took responsibility and cleric was released.

Investigation is in progress under the article 260 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which implies illegal purchase and keeping of drugs.
