8 children injured as a result of shooting pyrotechnics on New Year’s eve

Eight children have been taken to Iashvili Children’s Central Hospital as a result of shooting pyrotechnics on New Year’s eve.

One child has already been discharged from the hospital, seven underwent surgery. Among them one minor’s fingers were amputated.

All the children had limb injuries, seven among them continue treatment at the clinic.

It should be mentioned that the Public Security Management Center “112” of Ministry of Internal Affairs on December 31 and January 1 received 124 calls regarding the use of pyrotechnics.

51 calls were received from across Georgia on the night of December 31, while 73 - before 2 PM on January 1. The calls concerned notifications about both injuries and various incidents caused by the use of pyrotechnics.
