The Prosecutorial Council starts hearing candidates for the Prosecutor General position

The Prosecutorial Council starts interviewing the candidates for the position of Prosecutor General. The first interview is scheduled for 11:30. Live Stream will broadcast the interview.

According to the Prosecutorial Council, the process will be conducted with full transparency. The candidates will be selected under the criteria set by the Law of Georgia, professionalism, and experience.

According to law, prosecutors have been nominated by the academic institutions and civil sector.

A total of 17 candidates are nominated for the position of Prosecutor General.

Upon completion of the interview, the Prosecutorial Council shall, by secret ballot, nominate candidates for the General Prosecutor"s Office of Georgia to a list of at least three candidates for the post of Prosecutor General, at least one-third of whom shall be of different sex.

The Prosecutorial Council established a list of candidates for the General Prosecutor of Georgia on January 22.
