As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, the representatives of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia detained one person on the fact of misappropriation of the large sum of money of another person by deceit.

The investigation has revealed that the accused person contacted the individual with the status of socially vulnerable person and deceptively persuaded him that in exchange of certain amount of money and with the help of high-ranking officials, he would assist in obtaining the ownership of the residential property in Gori.

With aforementioned fraudulent intent, accused demanded $4 500 from citizen and factually took from the latter $3 900 as a pre-payment, during which he was arrested.

The investigation is under way under the third part of the article 180 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
