Russia reported 8 946 new cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 353 427.

According to reports, 80% of those infected last day were under 65.

It said the number of fatalities had risen by 92 overnight, taking the overall nationwide death toll from the virus to 3 633.

More than 118 798 patients recovered from coronavirus in the country.

Russia now holds second place in the world with the number of infected patients.
