The Georgian judiciary reform, the draft constitution, the law on the surveillance, the situation on the occupied territories and the Rustavi 2 case - the rapporteurs on Georgia will speak at the Council of Europe Monitoring Committee today.

The report will be oral and according to the majority, will focus on the topics that the Council of Europe has already posted on its website.

A large part of it is dedicated to the draft constitution and it notes the promise of the majority in regard to the Venice Commission"s remarks.

As for the case of Rustavi 2, the Council of Europe hopes that according to the promise, the Georgian government will meet the decision of the Strasbourg Court.

Evaluations were made both in the parliamentary majority and in the minority. Vice-Speaker Tamar Chugoshvili states that the monitoring mission is mainly focused on reforms. As for Rustavi 2, Chugoshvili said European lawmakers are waiting for the decision of the Strasbourg Court.

European Georgia is focusing on the criticism expressed by the Council of Europe Monitoring Mission.

"This institution is very critical of the work of the Constitutional Commission and the Rustavi 2 case. The decision of the European Court of Human Rights, which suspended the Court`s decision, was unprecedented, "said Giorgi Kandelaki.
