Georgia-Germany friendship year was opened in Berlin. The event, which was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany, was attended by about 500 people.

The Georgian and German Foreign Ministers addressed the audience at the solemn ceremony.

Heads of the diplomatic missions of both countries emphasized the importance of the friendship year and talked about Georgia-Germany`s long-term friendship and close partnership.

"Germany has supported the Association Agreement as well as the establishment of Free Trade Agreement with Europe. It also supported visa liberalization process and all the reforms that bring us closer to Europe, "said Mikheil Janelidze.
