Noise and verbal confrontation at Health Committee

The current session of the Health Committee was held on the background of noise and verbal confrontation. Controversy followed the statement of Koba Narchemashvili, a member of the Majority, who said that automatic registration of IDPs should be abolished.

According to Koba Narchemashvili, this will increase number of IDPs and this number may reach 5 million. Narchemashvili says that this is a wrong policy.

This statement of the majority member was followed by the negative reaction of IDPs.

A few minutes ago, members of the European Union and the IDPs who were in the committee left the committee sitting in protest.

Also, recently the chairman of the meeting demanded journalists to leave the committee room.

According to Elene Khoshtaria, member of the European Georgia Faction, Koba Narchemashvili was disrespectful towards IDPs.

"Koba Narchemashvili, who was aggressive towards IDPs, said that the problem of IDPs was a problem for them. That is why they do not want to register IDPs because there number will increase, " - Elene Khoshtaria said.

Zurab Tchiaberashvili, a member of the parliamentary faction Movement for Freedom, says that the government intends to leave the social allowance only for socially vulnerable IDPs.
