Transparency International Georgia publishes report on the draft Constitution of Georgia. A document developed by the NGO, which deals with the package of constitutional amendments, will be sent to the Venice Commission.

The organization speaks about problematic issues and says that the rule of distribution of mandates proposed by the package of constitutional amendments as well as the rule of presidential elections can not provide a democratic environment in the country.

"On the one hand, of course, it is good that we are moving towards the proportional system, but the proposed option, which relates to the distribution of mandates, is unfair and therefore it is necessary to change it. The second issue is related to the rule of choice of the president. We think that in today"s Georgian conditions it is important to have a more balanced management system and therefore it is important to choose the president directly,"- said Eka Gigauri.
