On the basis of a resolution adopted by the US House of Representatives, the US government is prohibited from financing those countries that recognize the independence of Georgia`s occupied territories. A similar record emerged in the budget proposal developed by the House of Representatives, which was sent to the congress for approval. The US state agencies are banned from all actions that support the occupation of Abkhazia and Tskhinvali.

The President of Georgia calls this prohibition a victory of the country`s diplomacy. The Prime Minister talked about the importance of the long-term strategic partnership between the two countries and the support of 30 Congressmen.

Opponents say that the budgetary record has convinced skeptics that under the new administration, Georgia`s support will continue. However, the opposition also said that this strong message of strategic partnership should be followed by proper policy from the government.

Specialists say that in case of approval, Georgia will take effective leverage with this entry and Russia will get a strong signal on recognition policy.
