According to the member of the political council of the United National Movement, Levan Bezhashvili, the Georgian Dream is going to prolong the period of staying in power with this constitution.

"With these amendments, the Georgian Dream, which is the only political party that supports this project, is trying to extend its power as long as 2030," said Levan Bezhashvili.

Chairman of the Civil Platform New Georgia, Giorgi Vashadze said that society should decide whether to live in a democratic state or not.

Political parties, which do not agree with the new version of the constitution proposed by the ruling team, are planning to conduct independent discussions in different regions in parallel with the general public discussions organized by the Constitutional Commission.
