Keda population protests against the construction of a new hydro power station. The reason for the conflict with the company is the tower that has to be built on the territory of the old cemetery. The inhabitants say that they will not allow the construction. The locals think that it is possible to build the towers for the station not so close to their residence.

In addition to Kedi, the residents of Khulo and Shuakhevi are also dissatisfied with the construction of a new hydro power station.where part of the population has been compensated for damaging the houses due to the construction. However, the locals say that the families are compensated not on the basis of the extent of the damage to their houses, but political views.

Local government denies issuing compensation on political grounds. According to the deputy governor of Shuakhevi, the special commission examined the extent of the damageinflicted to the houses during construction and provided financial assistance only to the families whose losses were officially established.

The population declares that if their demands are not satisfied they will hold protest rallies.
