"It has politically and financially special importance for Georgia, because this is the first time that the occupation was fixed in the US legislative act, which once again confirms firm support to our territorial integrity," - commented Minister of Foreign Affairs on the act signed by Donald Trump at a media briefing held by the Georgian Foreign Ministry. 

""The supporting text and additional funding for Georgia once again confirms the unwavering support of the United States for Georgia"s territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as our close bilateral cooperation. This is an important tool in the peaceful settlement process.

The part of the text in support of Georgia titled as "Occupation of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali Region" is in the chapter about Russian aggression. According to the text, the central government of any country cannot use the funds allocated by the mentioned law, if the US Secretary of State finds out and submits a report to the Committee that the country recognized the independence of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region occupied by Russia or established diplomatic relations with them,” said Janelidze.
Donald Trump signed the act of supporting Georgia`s territorial integrity.

According to this act, the budget of the United States is prohibited from financing the countries and organizations that recognize the independence of Georgia`s occupied regions by Russia.
