Cancellation of Security Council discussed at the president"s Palace

The opposition believes that it is unacceptable to abolish the Security Council in Georgia and disqualify one of the functions of the President . According to them the President should have deliberate body to discuss security issues in peaceful times .

"We have been trying to do everything in order to avoid these amendments, However as you know the ruling team offered us this change," said Sergi Kapanadze, the Deputy Chairman of the faction Movement for Freedom - European Georgia.

United National Movement does not rule out to hold rallies due to thus constitutional amendments.

"The aim of every intelligent governments should be to listen to society, other political parties and make a decision based on a common, concise political consent," said Levan Bezhashvili.

Free Democrats think that the president will not participate on building the country"s defense capabilities, which is alarming in the conditions of occupation.

"We will have a commander-in-chief who will have only a notary"s function. He will only confirm the decisions of others," Tamar Kekenadze said.

Giorgi Akhvlediani, a member of the Democratic Movement - United Georgia thinks that the government has brought the situation to a deadlock and thus pushes the society for revolution.
Tina Khidasheli, the former defense Minister claims that the approach of the ruling party reminds her 1990s, which is absolutely unacceptable.
