Court sentenced six former prison officers to preliminary custody

The court sentenced 7 former prison staff to preliminary custody. Former officers of Gldani Establishment No. 8 are accused of inhuman treatment of prisoners.

The Prosecutor"s Office demanded imprisonment only of 6 individuals. According to the prosecutor"s office, up to 600 ex-prisoners have been interviewed in regard to this case.

Attorneys of the defendants appealed with the demand to release the detainees and focused on health condition of some of them However court did not satisfy their demands.
