We are not rats for testing- Telavi protests against change of presidential elction rules

Discussion of constitutional amendments in Telavi is over. Questions heard from the local population were mostly about the rule of the president`s elections.

"We are not testing rats. We have one right - to choose the president and you take away this right. It is our fault that you are now sitting there. You have came here on our shoulders and now you move on expensive jeeps, "said one of the citizens.

Opposition representatives also believe that the president should be elected directly.

"The main task of changing this form of presidential governance is the fact that the president elected by the people and presented by the Georgian Dream has turned out to be a character and is not fully subordinated to the Georgian Dream," - said a European Georgia member, Sergi Kapanadze.

The ruling team claims that for the indirect elections it is to elect the president indirectly.
