The consideration on merits of the so-called cyanide case starts today. The parties will deliver introductory speeches at the session. In parallel, examining of evidence and questioning of witnesses of the prosecution will begin.

The lawyers of Archpriest Giorgi Mamaladze do not rule out that the Prosecutor`s Office will still file a motion to close the process, which they disagree with. 

According to the Patriarch"s lawyer, the Georgian Patriarchate supports the objective discussion of the case.

"On the one hand, the interests of the father of Giorgi Mamaladze should not be damaged, and on the other hand, the interests of those people,about whom he speaks, as in some cases, he makes inaccurate statements about them," - said Edisher Karchava.
