Gela Miqadze, a member of the Parliament of Georgia from the Alliance of Patriots heard from the journalists about the trial and decision taken against him in the United Arab Emirates.

"In fact, I heard today through television and it turned out that in 2017, after 7 years, something was done and the other side did not send me even a letter," - Gela Mikadze said.

The Emirate Court sentenced Mikadze a 15-year-imprisonment for seizing of 17 million dollars.

According to Gela Mikadze, he has not received any letter from the United Arab Emirates Court that the trial was conducted and he considered himself not guilty.

Along with Gela Mikadze, the former head of Rakia`s company was sentenced to imprisonment in absentia.

According to the lawmaker, this was a personal decision taken by Emir who passed a verdict from his office.
