More than 300 recruits took an oath in front of the President at the Freedom Square today. The ceremony was attended by the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers, representatives of the diplomatic corps and the Patriarch of Georgia as well.

They held a minute of silence to honor those soldiers who were killed for Georgia"s territorial integrity and in international missions.

Giorgi Margvelashvili, the President of Georgia congratulated the population on the Independence Day and said that the Georgian state will not step back on the path of unification of the country.

" First of all, I want to remind everyone on behalf of the multinational Georgia that the Georgian state will never step back on the path of unification of the country. We will achieve this goal with the strongest weapon which is building a successful Georgia ", Giorgi Margvelashvili said.
