The text of the Declaration supporting Georgia, which is to be voted for at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly today, is known.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly reaffirms its commitment to NATO open door policy. It strongly supports Georgia`s territorial integrity. The Assembly calls upon the Russian Federation to recall recognition of Georgia`s occupied regions and withdraw its armed forces from these territories.
The draft resolution says that Russia should fulfill international obligations towards Georgia.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly calls on the Government of Georgia and Parliament to strengthen independent judiciary, maintain media pluralism, deepen dialogue and reduce tensions between ruling and opposition parties.
In the declaration document, the Assembly calls on NATO governments and parliament to deepen the political dimension of Georgia`s integration into NATO to create conditions to grant MAP for Georgia .
